We are sorry to report that the BiFest-style event in Sheffield scheduled for this Saturday, June 30th, has been cancelled.
The fifth one-day Bi Community event in Manchester will be held on 21st July.
This year’s Manchester BiFest follows similar events in 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 (the gap there was due to bi activists being busy bringing BiCon to Manchester for 2004)
The programme has yet to be finalised, and as a community led D-I-Y event the organisers are encouraging the wider bi community to help shape the agenda for the day.
The website for the event is now live at manchester.bifest.org
Sheffield’s Bi Day programme has been published at last.
This is a one day event full of workshops, discussion, fun and socialising for bisexuals, their partners and the bi-curious. All are welcome regardless of gender, sexuality, age, location etc. The organisers are sensitive to the fact that not all people are necessarily out / open about their sexuality and the organisers intend to provide a safe and discreet space where people can relax and enjoy themselves.
Due to space constraints at the Centre, registering in advance is essential.
Date: Saturday 30 June, 2007.
Venue: Centre for HIV & Sexual Health,
22 Collegiate Crescent,
Time: 11.00am to 5.30pm (+ evening social event)

Brighton will host the UK’s first known sauna event specifically for Trans People and their Friends on 9th February. It is hosted by Brighton Bothways bisexual group, who also pioneered Brighton’s first women-only sauna 2 years ago. Tickets for the trans sauna are only available in advance, for people who make themselves known to Brighton Bothways.
There will also be a Gender-Blind Speed Dating with Slippy Olive Oil Wrestling club night on Thursday 8th Feb. Alan (Co-chair) has this to say: “Our gender-blind speed-dating will be bigger and better than ever. Olive Oil Wrestling is the new improved secret ingredient and we’ve hired a squidge-proof padded sumo wrestling ring”.
Lisa (the other Co-chair) agrees: “This is going to be so much fun, and so slippery! Daters can interview each other, but they can wrestle each other too if they want! So get in the queue behind me!”
“This event is open to the entire LGBT community and there will also be space hoppers and giant games for people who think oil wrestling’s boring.”
