On August 26th 2010 the first international BiReCon (bisexual research conference) event will be taking place in London, UK, as the first day of the international BiCon. Those who attended the first national BiReCon in 2008 will know that it is an event which brings together researchers and writers with activists, organisations and members of the bi community.
The organisers say:
This year we have a number of prominent international writers, researchers and activists presenting their work. We already have confirmed keynote talks from Robyn Ochs (from the Bisexual Resources Centre, and author of ‘Getting Bi’), Steven Angelides (author of ‘A History of Bisexuality’), Serena Anderlini D’Onofrio (author of many works on bisexuality, and most recently ‘ Gaia and the New Politics of Love’), and Eric Anderson from the University of Bath. We will also be show-casing the work on bisexuality that is currently happening in the UK.
As well as hearing about cutting edge research, BiReCon is an opportunity to share good practice about working with bi people in your group or organisation, and to attend workshops about various current aspects of bisexuality worldwide.
