Black History Month in denial?

Peter Tatchell has turned his fire on the organisers of UK Black History Month events for not recognising and celebrating lesbian, gay, bi and trans people from Billie Holliday to RuPaul.

In a Guardian piece this week titled “Malcolm X was bisexual. Get over it”, the veteran LGBT campaigner lambasts “the denialism surrounding the bisexuality of one of the greatest modern black liberation heroes: Malcolm X.”

He continues that “Abstaining from gay sex after his marriage does not change the fundamentals of his sexual orientation and does not mean that he was wholly straight.” and ponders whether, had he not been killed in 1965, Malcolm would have publicly recognised the common ground with the gay rights movement.
