This year’s BiCon begins today, with a special celebration to mark 30 years of continuous bi community organising in the UK.
1st September 1981 saw the first meeting of the London Bi Group. That group ran for more than 20 years and produced a host of offshoots including BiCon itself, and the “Bi Monthly” newsletter that would in time be succeeded by Bi Community News magazine.
Held in a different city each year, 2011’s BiCon is in Leicester and runs from today til Sunday.
The Big Bi Birthday Party starts at 5:30pm and includes a very brief welcome to BiCon.
