Bisexuals want it both ways with marriage and civil partnership, says a reader poll in BCN magazine.
With the government consulting on changes to both civil partnership and marriage laws, there is the chance of either being opened up regardless of gender to any couple – or that civil partnerships might be abolished and merged into marriage law.
Bis want the choice of either, it seems. The results of the poll were:
- Both marriage and civil partnerships open to couples regardless of gender (82%)
- No state recognition of partnerships at all – 11%
- Civil partnerships for any couple, marriage for mixed-sex couples only (5%)
- Keep things how they are (2%)
