Activists gather to shape the future…

Bisexuality activists from across Wales, Scotland and England have been brought together today in Manchester for the first day of the eighth UK Bi Activism Conference.

The main debate on the first day of the event has been around the plans agreed at this summer’s BiCon Decision Making Plenary, to set up an ongoing Limited Company, making BiCon a more secure and accountable organisation.

Other sessions during the day looked at the range of bi resources that have been produced and how to make distribution of those and other visibility work more effective; at the work Bi Community News does and how it could develop as a community-centred publication; and at the plans to reshape the bi.org international bisexual hub website.

The conference also celebrated the successes of the past seven such gatherings, from growth in the range of bi social and support organisations around the UK to the production of a host of new bi resources over the past five years.
