Bi magazine folds

Long-running North American bi journal North Bi North West has printed its last issue. In an editorial column the editor reflected that the journal, which has run as a project of the Seattle Bisexual Women’s Network, could not be sustained at present due to the group’s changed circumstances. It is hoped to bring the magazine back in web-only format.

Their website statement reads:

SBWN has been going through some structural changes due in part to the closing of the LGBT center. We’ve recently [Summer 2008] made some decisions about the continuing direction and structure of the group. While SBWN is keeping our post office box and our website, we are letting go of the printed edition of our newsletter.

Volume 21 Issue 2 is the last print issue of North-Bi-Northwest. SBWN intends to resume publication with web based issues of the newsletter once we have a core of volunteer energy behind that project.

I have had a great time being editor of this newsletter. It has been a place for me to express a lot of my creative energy for ten years. My writing, both fact and fiction, has appeared in these pages as well as photographs I have taken, drawings, paintings, doodles. I have told funny stories, expressed my outrage, tried out interviewing people, shared my good and sad times, reported on events. It’s been a blast.
