Bisexuals Decide

It’s decision-day at this year’s BiCon today, with the big “decision-making plenary” session as part of the day’s agenda. The “DMP” is where BiCon goers can vote to give funding to specific pieces of work of benefit to the bi community (such as the 2009 Bis At Prides project) and where the decision is made about where the next BiCon will be held – and who will be entrusted to run it!

There’s plenty else going on today too, and some people will be skipping the DMP to go along to give their support to Leicester LGBT Pride – which may have a lot of bi visibility this time around as a result. But there’s also a busy programme of discussion workshops during the day (including things like jogging and massage that aren’t very, um, discussion-ey!).  And in the evening it’s the BiCon Ball.

As we reported a couple of months ago, this year the BiCon Ball has been titled ‘Deco-dance – Cos It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing!’ The team have taken the years 1919 – 1939 as inspiration. It was an era when societal norms and rules were challenged. It’s the era of Jazz, Hollywood Glamour, of speakeasies and dancing till dawn.

So quite possibly a late night in Leicester.  If you aren’t already here, make time to join us!
