The Scottish Government are currently consulting on whether to introduce same-sex marriage in Scotland; as we know the anti-equality lobby will mobilise to try and keep discrimination entrenched, it’s important that the views of bisexual people
are heard. The Equality Network will be hosting five special LGBT consultation events in partnership with the Scottish Government so that Government officials can directly hear your views on issues including:
[*] the introduction of same-sex marriage
[*] allowing a religious ceremony for same-sex marriage
[*] ending the divorce requirement for trans people
[*] allowing mixed-sex couples to register a civil partnership
You may have seen in the media that the opponents of same-sex marriage are mounting a high-profile campaign, which will include 100,000 postcards, to encourage negative responses to the consultation. Your views are therefore crucial and could help swing the debate back!
