New Zealand equalises marriage

New Zealand flagAs legislation for same-sex marriage works its way into law in Scotland, England and Wales, other countries continue to make the same move. Today the New Zealand parliament voted to introduce same-sex marriage by a nearly two-to-one margin (77 to 44).

Like the UK, New Zealand introduced same-sex civil partnerships in 2005. It is the 13th country to legalise same-sex marriage.
