Tonight sees a special punk rock night at West Coast Rock Cafe in Blackpool in honour of punk singer Laurence Brewer, who has died at the age of 46.
Loz started out in Sign Language, on the punk / new wave scene in the 80s, and after they split in 1987 he kept playing. Indeed while he was one of the small team that ran the 6th International BiCon in Manchester in 2000, part of the entertainment programme was his then band Dale Dipple and the Double Standards.
He went on to be one of the founders of EuroBiNet, the European bisexual activism network. Each year BiCon runs a survey of attendees originally devised by Laurence and Ange from the bisexual research group BiBlio.
In recent years he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a degenerative condition that eventually took him from us.
In 2011 he was the subject of a BBC documentary as he worked to record his speech patterns onto a computer so as to be able to talk in his own voice when the time came that he would need to use a speech synthesiser.
