Hot on the heels of the first Norwich LGBT Pride festival comes the city’s first big party to mark International Celebrate Bisexuality Day.
The event will be at the Norwich Playhouse Bar, St George’s Street, with husband-and-wife DJ 78 and DJ Hilly – DJ 78 plays, well, 78rpm discs, mostly swing, early rock’n’roll, and such – but for this event he promises to mix it up a bit and play a bit of everything from the ’20s til the present day (when did you last see gramophones next to normal record decks?) Hilly plays 7″ singles, predominantly soul, Motown and disco. She will be delivering a ‘high camp’ set… making for a really ‘up’, party atmosphere. There’s also going to be a balloon sculptor, making risque and silly balloon models for partygoers.
Then there’ll be a stall with Pride merchandise and (of course) bi resources. At midnight there’ll be the big announcement that it’s the beginning of Bi Day itself. So: 8pm – 12:30am, 22nd Sept, and best of all… FREE ENTRY!
