As LGBT History Month kicks off in the UK, over in the USA February is Black History Month. American bi website Bi Social Network has a weekly podcast show which for the next few weeks will focus on black bi history – thanks to the power of the internets, you listen in wherever you are!
They say: “Bi Social Network will discuss the lives and stories of black bisexuals during Black History Month. In this five part series on Bi Talk Radio, we’ll talk about what is happening with race, health, social issues, entertainment and sexuality in 2012. Hopefully it will be funny, educational, uplifting, truthful, insightful and needed.”
Topics during the series will include: What are Bisexuals of colour facing today? Segregation, health, mental health, poverty, The Down Low (closeted), family, interracial issues, internal phobia, HIV/Aids, education, entrepreneurial start-ups.
The first show has as its bi-in-the-spotlight the writer Alice Walker. It airs at 11pm local time, which as BSN are in Chicago is six hours behind the UK. Catch it here.
