Tom Robinson joins lineup to mark 40 years of London Switchboard

London Switchboard Helpline logo“Glad to be Gay” singer and Radio 6 DJ Tom Robinson joins a panel celebrating forty years of London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard tomorrow night.

Tom came out as bisexual from gay in the 1980s, at a time when London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard was controversial in bi circles for having a “no bisexual volunteers” policy in place.

Volunteers from four decades share memories of the UK’s best-known LGBT helpline in a panel made up of: Julian Hows,Rebecca Swenson, Lisa Power, Tom Robinson, David Seligman, Tina Tav, Rupert Smith and Fiona Harvey.  Debate kicks off at 7pm at RADA Studios, in central London near the University of London and Goodge St tube.

The LLGS helpline service now offers help to lesbian, gay, bi and trans people, and are currently reviewing their name to better reflect their work.
