Web search engine Google’s bar on bisexuality has been lifted – but only in the United States.
ONTD reports:
BiNet USA is pleased to confirm that Google Inc. has unblocked the term “bisexual” from its search algorithm. Now that “bisexual” is allowed, terms such as “bisexual quotes”, “bisexual rights”, and “bisexual parenting” are automatically suggested to Google users.
“It’s not every day one of the biggest companies in the world changes its mind, but we are thankful that Google now sees bisexual people just like everyone else,” said BiNet USA President Faith Cheltenham. “It will take time for bisexual search terms to be ranked as they were before the ban, but now bisexual people and their allies have a fighting chance to be seen, heard, and understood.”
However the change of heart on Google’s part only applies in the USA – users in the UK will note that google.co.uk still bars predictive search for bisexual and related terms.
Gender has nothing to do with love! [transphobic dating website web address deleted] is a serious bisexual Social Site.
No it isn’t.
as BiNet USA president Faith C (who is also a computer programmer) has explained “Auto-complete takes cues from actual user data. Since it was Just unblocked it takes time to populate. Best guess is that it will take six-months to a year to get to where Gay, Lesbian, Trans, et. al. are.”

So we need to type useful bi phrases into google a lot? Okeydoke!
However some autocomplete terms seem to be working in some places but not in others. At the moment, UK google still draws a complete blank.
